ERAU and I? Some might call it fate…

My story with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University starts before I was born, and has directly influenced my life ever since.  While each part is a true epic unto itself, I’ll just dazzle you with the Cliff notes…

My father accepted a job with ERAU after I was conceived, but before I was born.  It was teaching airplane mechanics in England, so as soon as I was cleared to fly at 6 months, my mother and I left Massachusetts and to join my dad over on the other side of the pond.  We came back to the USA just before my fifth birthday, and during school breaks I would visit my father in England, in Spain, and finally at the Daytona Beach campus as he moved around.  When it came to head off to college to be an Aerospace Engineer, ERAU had an offer I couldn’t refuse – free tuition.  Graduating into an glut of engineers, I found some graphical design work locally, then found a computer tech. position at Embry-Riddle.

My father and I worked for ERAU at the same time for about a year before he had to retire in 1997.
