
Okay, it’s a new day and the wife is coming to terms with the color. She’s still looking at glazes or other finishing techniques to make the yellow less yellow-y (“Less school bus”). The color is very complex and changes drastically through out the day. In full sun it has a bright, almost green, hue to it, while in the evening it is a smoky mustard. I’m liking it more with every passing day.
The plan is to install chocolate colored crown moulding and baseboards to tie the yellow with the reddish brown of the floors. It’s starting to look less like an old world manor and more like a 1920’s cottage. We’ve taken to call it ‘Turn-of-the-Century Parisian’. Here the baseboard and moulding are only installed on the near wall:
This marks the third day without access to the great Electronic Demi-God. I miss him.
