I was about ready to pull away from the house on my way to work when I noticed the windows the wife had tried to open over the weekend were stuck open. I was able to push one closed from the outside, but I needed a pair of screwdrivers to fix the other one. I went into my shop to find them and I heard the Baxter get into the living room. I yelled “Hey! Get out here!” thinking he had gone from the living room into the bathroom or bedroom. At that point I noticed the front door was more ajar than I had left it – the monkey monster dog had gotten out. I ran outside to track him because I heard the garbage trucks around the neighborhood. I didn’t have to go far though…

I called for him but he just sat there an whined. I called again and again his sat there and whined. Finally bringing out the big guns, I loudly procured a dog biscuit—crunching up the bag, knocking the biscuits around, etc.—but still nothing. Finally, I walked back to the front door and rapped on the door loudly with the biscuit. He perked up and jumped out. I made him sit before giving him the treat, then he promptly ran to his dog bed in the kitchen to eat.  Little extortion artist.

After that, fixing the window went pretty quickly.
