Last night the wife started the dishwasher while I was getting cold water from the fridge. She stops me and says “Hang on there’s some water here…” And indeed there was a small amount of water by my foot. Then I realize that it’s a small amount there, only because the rest of the water is making a break for the patio door. And then the both of us realize that the dishwasher isn’t draining the water into the undersink plumbing – it’s dumping all of it onto the kitchen flooor – under the island, under the dog bed, under the patio door mat, everywhere else but where it needs to be going.
For those following at home, this dishwasher:
- Was completely clogged because the chopper blade fell off.
- Had the control panel fail.
- Had that replacement control panel fail.
- Had the replacement control panel for that replacement control panel fail.
Arrrgh. Another day pulling the dishwasher and figuring out what went wrong – so I can fix it. Money’s tight again, so calling in the professionals is out of the question. Not that it helped last time though…
Grumble, grumble.
